Where is the BáilaMe Cracow Bachata Festival 2025

The festival will take place in the beautiful city of Krakow, in the south of Poland.

What to do in Krakow

Krakow is a beautiful city with a rich history and culture. It’s a perfect destination for those who want to explore the city’s historic sites, museums, and restaurants. If you’re attending a bachata festival, you’re in for a treat!

Here are some recommendations for what to visit in Krakow for three days.

Day 1: Start your day by visiting Wawel Castle and Wawel Cathedral.
There is a lot to do here and you could easily spend at least half of a day visiting all of the sites. Fortunately, the way the ticket system is designed, you only pay for the attractions you want to visit.

PRO TRAVEL TIP:
We recommend visiting Wawel Castle first thing in the morning.

There are a limited number of tickets for sale and on busy days, these do sell out early (you cannot purchase tickets in advance). Also, by getting here at opening time you can avoid the midday crowds.

After visiting Wawel Castle, head to the Historic Old Town: Kanonicza, Grodzka, Church of SS Peter & Paul, St. Andrew’s Church.For lunch, try out some local cuisine at one of the many restaurants in Old Town.

In the afternoon, visit Market Square, including the Cloth Hall, St Mary’s Basilica, Rynek Underground Museum, and Town Hall Tower.

End your day by taking a food tour.

Day 2: Start your day by visiting Auschwitz-Birkenau.
This is an important site that will give you insight into Poland’s history during World War II.

After visiting Auschwitz-Birkenau, head to Kazimierz.
This is a historic Jewish district that has been transformed into a trendy neighborhood with lots of cafes and restaurants.

For lunch, try out some local cuisine at one of the many restaurants in Kazimierz.

In the afternoon, visit The Barbican, St Florian’s Gate and Florianska Street.

Day 3: Start your day by visiting The Little Square.

After visiting The Little Square, head to Podgórze. This is a historic district that has been transformed into a trendy neighborhood with lots of cafes and restaurants.

For lunch, try out some local cuisine at one of the many restaurants in Podgórze.

In the afternoon, visit Schindler’s Factory Museum. (remember to book the tickets online – early in advance)

Legend has it that there was a dragon living in a cave under Wawel Hill, which was terrorizing the people of Krakow.

A young shoemaker named Skuba managed to defeat the dragon by feeding him a sheep filled with sulfur. 

The dragon became so thirsty that he drank from the Vistula River until he exploded!

Today, you can see a statue of the dragon at the foot of Wawel Hill
